Jump on the Fitness Train

CATZ SportsA twenty-four year old volleyball player had the bad luck of discovering he had developed a tumor in his shoulder crippling his ability to play ball. The doctors delivered the unbearable news that it was, in fact, a rare form of cancer. The boy had the tumor removed as soon as possible, and immediately began radioactive treatment. It was during this treatment, in which he stayed in a lead room for several days, that the doctors noted his exceptionally fast recovery. The isotopes were leaving his body at a much faster rate than the average person. This miracle was entirely due to the boy’s excellent state of physical condition. Thanks in part, on the boys’ behalf, goes to CATZ Sports.

CATZ (Competitive Athletic Training Zone) Sports is a physical fitness training center that teaches the basics of athleticism. No matter whether you’re an elite athlete training to break your own record, a beginner just learning how to run, or a volleyball player trying to beat the odds, CATZ has a customized work-out designed especially for you. John Boehle, owner of CATZ Sports Orange County, says “Although our background is based in professional athleticism and grew from a physical therapy arena, we pride ourselves on the fact that we offer age-appropriate fitness without injury and we teach an overall healthy-lifestyle mentality.”

At CATZ, one “trains-like-sport” by learning a mixed range of training profiles, such as combining football with soccer and basketball drills. This means you will be moving and reacting just like you would on a court or a field. Each session is one hour long and is designed to incorporate core strength, cardio and fun. Sport-specific sessions are no larger than six athletes to one coach and adult classes are up to ten athletes to one coach. At CATZ, anyone can learn the lessons of social development in an active environment, self-discipline with a positive attitude, building self-confidence and the benefits of teamwork. Moms and Dads alike can work out alongside their kids and receive highly customized training, promoting sports-based strength and conditioning, and increased athleticism.

Located inside the American Sports Centers (ASC), the 6,400 square foot space is surprisingly open, with a 2,000 square foot turf area and a four lane track. Here, anyone can learn how to develop the physical and metal stamina and skills required to take on the biggest challenges in sports, and more importantly the even bigger ones in life.
