What’s in the kitchen with Lisa?
Lisa Rogovin, the San Francisco-based founder of “In the Kitchen with Lisa,” shares five food favorites from her hometown.
1. Rosemary salt from Eatwell Farm
“This is my absolute favorite salt,” says Rogovin.”Take something as simple as a ripe tomato, sprinkle this salt on top, and you have a delicious treat with hardly any effort. I also love to drizzle olive oil and rosemary salt on vegetables and roast for 30 minutes, or put on baked chicken breasts.”
2. Acme Bread Company
“In a city known for bread, Acme bakes the best. What makes it so good? It’s crusty on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside, exactly as it should be.”
3. Kokkari
“I love this restaurant so much I decided to get married in it. What more could I want than to marry the greatest guy and eat lamb chops and tzikiki all night long? Filled with kilimn rugs and oversized, hand-crafted furniture, the interior is extremely comfortable and elegant.”
4. Recchiuti Confections
“Fleur de Sel chocolates by Recchiuti Confections is complete happiness. I love the balance between the dark chocolate robed around delicately salty caramel. Quality over quantity and I’m a happy and healthy girl.”
5. Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant
“With all the cheese, chocolate and bread I love to consume, I need something to wash it all down. This retail store inside the Ferry Building is my go-to wine shop. I have blind faith in its selection. There’s tons of great wine out there and FPWM’s niche is selling small boutique wines from around the world. They also recognize that great wine doesn’t have to cost a fortune and have lots of choices for under $20.”
