Life in Black & White

I love photography, especially black & white. I find black & white photography intimate and beautiful.
1. Book - Women in the Mirror: 1945-2004 by Anne Hollander.
Photos of women through the eyes of Richard Avedon, one of the great photographers.
2. Class - Julia Dean Photography Workshops, Venice, CA
An incredible place where I began to learn how to take black & white photos (color, too). Great teachers, great space.
3. Movie - Good Night and Good Luck
George Clooney’s Oscar-nominated docudrama about TV newsman Edward R. Murrow. All shot in black and white; it feels like a moving photo art gallery.
4. Gallery - Fahey Klein Gallery, Los Angeles, CA
This gallery represents and showcases the works of some of the best 20th century photographers. Always interesting.
5. Gallery - Monroe Gallery of Photography, Santa Fe, NM
In a sea of Santa Fe’s fabulous galleries (over 250), the Monroe Gallery stands out. Its walls bring historical moments to life through the lens of some of the best photojournalists in the world.
