Getting Started

Who should have a profile on Two Smart Dogs?

Our focus is on classes...classes people take for fun, or to learn something new. If you teach or offer classes that students can take without being enrolled in a degree program you can promote your business and classes on Two Smart Dogs.

How can I have a profile on Two Smart Dogs?

First you need to create an account. Go to the Provider Hub homepage and click “Join” from the top or left navigation. You must provide a verified email address, password, and zip code. Once you have an account, you can create or claim your profile (make sure to check if we’ve started one for you). See the section “Profiles” below for details on creating or claiming your profile.

What cities do you cover? Can I have a profile if I teach or offer classes in another city?

We are currently in the Los Angeles area and Orange County and will be launching in other cities very soon, including San Francisco, New York and Chicago. So create your profile now! Or send us an email and we’ll let you know when we are getting ready to open in your city.


My Account

Do I need to register to use Two Smart Dogs?

Yes. If you teach or offer classes and want to have a profile on Two Smart Dogs you first need to create an account. From the Provider Hub click on “Join.” Once you have created your account, you can claim your provider profile or create a new one (see “Profiles” below).

I can’t find the confirmation email, where is it?

Check your junk mail folder. To prevent our emails from going into your junk mail folder add welcome@twosmartdogs.com and alerts@twosmartdogs.com to your address book or safe list. In extreme cases you might have to turn off SPAM filters. If you need us to resend the email, click on the link on the right side of the login page.

I can’t remember my password, what should I do?

If you can’t remember your password, just click on the "Lost your password?" link on the login page. Enter your email address. We’ll send you your password.

How do I change my account information?

To edit your account or change your account preferences, simply login and go to “My Profiles > My account.”

How do I close my account?

Contact support@twosmartdogs.com to request that your account be closed.


Profiles

What is a profile?

A profile is a snapshot of your business and classes. It helps people learn about what you offer. It contains basic contact information, the types of classes you offer, a description of your business and a photograph or other image. Check out a sample profile.

What does “Claim your profile” mean?

We have created starter profiles for many providers. If you’re one of these providers, the next step is to “claim” your profile, verify the information and add to it.
Here is how you can claim your profile:

  • Search for your profile on the consumer end of the site or from the provider hub
  • Follow the instructions for creating an account
  • Claim your starter profile by verifying the existing information

In addition to confirming the information that’s there, we encourage you to add a detailed description of your class offerings, a photo and other information to give a more complete picture of your business. Want to claim your profile now? Get started.

What if I don’t find my profile? Can I create a profile?

If we have not started a profile for you, no problem. You can create a profile from scratch. It’s still fast and easy. Create your profile now.

What does it cost to have a profile?

Nothing. A profile on Two Smart Dogs is FREE!

Can I have multiple profiles?

Yes. You can create as many profiles as you would like. In fact, we’ve created a flexible system that allows you to add locations and create profiles for seasonal and special programs. If you offer classes across a wide range of subjects, you can create targeted profiles for each area of your program areas, such as performing arts, languages, kids classes, etc.

You can view and manage all of your profiles from one convenient “dashboard” called “My Profiles” from within the Provider Hub. It’s all FREE!

How do I add locations?

  • Once you’ve claimed or created your first profile, click “Add location” from your “My Profiles” page.
  • Enter the class location information for the new location.
  • You will then be prompted to modify other elements of the profile for the new location.

How do I create multiple profiles?

  • There are two ways to create a new profile: from scratch, or by modifying elements of your original profile. You pick the method that easiest for you.
  • Once you’ve claimed or created your first profile, click “Create a new profile” from your “My Profiles” page.
  • Select “New from master” if you want to save time and use your original profile as a starting point OR “New from scratch” if you want to start with a blank slate.
  • You will then be prompted to complete the new profile.
  • You can view and manage all of your profiles from one convenient “dashboard” in “My Profiles” from within the Provider Hub.

How do I add/change a photo or image?

  • Login to Two Smart Dogs through the Provider Hub and go to “My Profiles.”
  • Select “Edit Profile” next to the profile you want to modify.
  • Click ahead to the “Photos + more” tab.
  • Click the browse button to locate the image file on your computer, then click the “Upload” button.
  • Click “Continue” at the bottom of the page until you get back to “My Profiles.”
  • From “My Profiles” you can click on “View profile” to check out your new image!

Can I upload my company logo?

You can upload any image file, including a logo, using virtually any file format (.jpg, .pdf, .tiff. gif). The image will appear next to your listing in search results and in a slightly larger format in your profile. If you start with a logo or image that is not square our system will automatically resize it to fit into a 130x130 pixels format.

The moral of the story? For best results, start with a square image!

What do I do when I get the message, “Image must be 130x130 minimum”?

Your image needs to be at least 130 x 130 pixels. If you get an error message when you’re trying to upload your image, pick an image with a larger file size.

Can I use HTML formatting in my profile?

We do not allow any user-created HTML formatting anywhere on the site.

Can I embed a link to my website in my profile?

You have two places to insert links to your website. When you create or edit your profile you can insert a link to your home page. You can also enter the URL that will link a user directly to the page on your website where you give detailed class information. We do not allow links in the free text portions of your profile.

I just created a profile but it’s not showing up on the site. What’s up?

We review and verify profiles for all new providers. This takes about 24 hours. We’ll send you an email when your profile has been posted. Once your profile is live on the site you can edit it, add locations and create secondary profiles, which will post to the site immediately.

How do I edit my profile?

Go to “My Profiles” and click “Edit profile” next to the profile you want to change. The system will guide you through the process. To ensure that your edits are saved, you will need to click “Continue” or “Next step” on each page, even if you do not change any information.

Can I delete a profile on Two Smart Dogs?

You cannot delete your master profile without assistance from us. You can delete any secondary profiles you create. To delete a profile, go to “My Profiles” and click “Delete” next to the profile you want to delete.

The Showcase

What is the Showcase?

We know that many of you offer fantastic classes and special events. To help you get the word out we created the Showcase feature. The Showcase lets you highlight your classes and events in pictures and sound by adding slideshows, video and more.

If your profile includes the Showcase, we will highlight your listing in search results with a green star. Your profile will stand out and people who are looking for classes will know you went the extra mile to give them helpful information.

What is the cost of the Showcase?

The Showcase costs $250.00 a year. Sign up by July 31, 2008 and get the first 6 months FREE. Learn more.


Programs

What is the Reviews Program?

Two Smart Dogs understands that reviews matter to people who are looking for classes and instructors. Our search algorithm rewards providers that have reviews by sending them to the top of the page.
We believe that class providers have an important role in getting students to submit reviews so we’ve made it easy for your students to review you on Two Smart Dogs. Learn more.

How can I participate in the Reviews Program?

Send us an email telling us you’re interested. We’ll contact you and give you the tools you need to get started. It’s Free!

What is “SMART Deals”?

SMART Deals is a listing of special deals on classes, events and related learning opportunities that you can offer as incentives for repeat and new students. SMART Deals can help you build loyalty, attract new students and introduce new classes, or fill open seats. Learn more.
